FAQs

What is the benefit of receiving Independent and Unconflicted advice?

Neither the principal adviser, Ross McConachie, nor Generational Financial Advice Pty Ltd, nor the Licensee, Tupicoffs, has any equity arrangement with any financial institution, nor has any affiliation with any ‘financial product manufacturer’. The Licensee meets the Corporations Act definition of Independent. There are very few financial planners in Australia that can call themselves Independent.

This means there is no risk that we could be influenced to recommend a financial product offered by an associated company, or be influenced by a financial inducement.

We have a fixed fee engagement, which means that recommendations are not made because the outcome might be more financially advantageous to us.

All of our focus is on achieving the best of every opportunity for our clients.

What is your location?

Our offices are located in the Brisbane CBD and we can reserve an on-site carpark on request for your appointment.

What occurs during the first meeting?

The first meeting is an opportunity for us to understand what you are trying to achieve and how we can help you. This meeting is provided at our cost and no decisions need to be made on the day.

We understand that sometimes prospective clients are wary of disclosing all of their most private financial information to a stranger. However, it is preferable if you are prepared and able to answer questions about your goals and financial position which give us an understanding of how we can help.

We also seek to understand your comfort with investment risk.
Following the first meeting, we will provide a written quote and a draft Client Agreement. You will also receive a Financial Services Guide and a summary of the goals that you have given us. We will also provide you with a Risk Disclosure Document which addresses investment risk and how this applies to your personal situation.

How much can I expect to pay?

Your initial appointment is provided free of charge. If you decide to proceed, we will prepare an Initial Statement of Advice and an annual invoice for you, which will cover all advice, implementation, appointments, phone calls and any other requirements you might have for the first twelve months.

Ongoing annual costs differ from person to person, depending on the complexity of your situation and the amount of work involved.

How often can I expect to hear from my adviser?

Both your Adviser and your Client Service Manager are available as often as you feel the need to contact them. You can contact us by email, phone or you can arrange an appointment. We will also contact you regularly to review your situation or provide advice. By paying an annual fee, you don’t have to worry about being charged every time you contact us.

Can I refer a friend?

We would be flattered if you believe we can add value to your friends’ or family members’ financial situation. We accept referrals from existing clients or accountants.
